Shipping & Delivery for Hayes & Burns Orders

Our shipping model is designed around how LTL freight actually works, not marketing promises. This policy explains where we ship, how long it takes and what curbside delivery means.

Shipping Regions

Hayes & Burns currently ships to the contiguous United States (lower 48 states) only. At this time, we do not ship to Alaska, Hawaii, U.S. territories or international destinations.

Shipping Cost

All eligible products include FREE standard LTL freight shipping with curbside delivery to addresses within the contiguous United States. Shipping costs are built into the product price, so there are no additional freight charges at checkout for standard deliveries.

Handling Time (Order Processing)

Because our products are large, heavy and often crated on pallets, handling takes longer than small parcel shipping.

  • Typical handling time: 3–7 business days from when your order is placed.
  • Handling includes order verification, inspection, packaging, crating, palletizing and booking with a freight carrier.

Order cutoff time: Orders received after 2:00 PM (warehouse local time) are treated as if they were placed on the following business day.

Transit Time (On the Road)

Once your order has left the warehouse, it travels on an LTL freight network. Transit includes movement between freight terminals and coordination of the final delivery appointment.

  • Typical transit time: 5–14 business days after the carrier picks up your order.
  • Remote or rural locations, or shipments crossing multiple freight hubs, may be closer to the high end of this range.

Estimated Delivery Window

Based on our handling and transit times, most orders are delivered in approximately:

  • 8–21 business days from the date the order is placed (around 1.5 to 4 weeks).

These timelines include built-in buffers for carrier delays and appointment scheduling. We always recommend planning bathroom installations with additional time margin.

Delivery Method: Curbside Freight

All large items from Hayes & Burns are delivered via curbside freight service:

  • The carrier will contact you to schedule a delivery appointment.
  • The driver will bring the palletized shipment to the curbside or end of your driveway.
  • Drivers do not bring items inside, carry them up stairs, or perform installation or debris removal.

Please ensure someone is available at the delivery address during the appointment window to receive and inspect the shipment.

Inspecting Your Shipment

Because our products are heavy and fragile, it is important to inspect the shipment carefully at the time of delivery:

  • Walk around the pallet and check the crate, carton and visible surfaces for damage.
  • If you see any damage, note it clearly on the carrier’s Bill of Lading (BOL) before signing.
  • Take clear photos of the packaging and any visible damage.

Documenting damage on the BOL protects your ability to file a freight claim and helps us quickly repair or replace the item if necessary.

Damaged or Defective Items

If your shipment arrives damaged or defective:

  • Note the damage on the Bill of Lading at delivery.
  • Take detailed photos of the packaging and product.
  • Contact our support team at info@hayesandburns.com with your order number, description and photos.

When damage is properly documented on the BOL, Hayes & Burns will work with the carrier to resolve the claim and provide an appropriate solution, which may include repair, replacement parts or a full replacement.

Missed Deliveries & Redelivery

If the carrier attempts delivery and no one is available during the scheduled appointment window, the shipment may be returned to the local terminal and a redelivery fee may be charged by the carrier. Any redelivery fees are the responsibility of the customer.

Returns & Return Shipping Costs

If you wish to return an item for reasons other than damage or defect (for example, you changed your mind or the size/finish is no longer desired), this is treated as a buyer’s remorse return.

  • Buyer’s remorse returns are accepted within 30 days of delivery, subject to our Return Policy.
  • The customer is responsible for return freight shipping costs.
  • A 15% restocking fee will be deducted from your refund to cover warehouse handling and inspection costs.
